The department has put out a request for proposalsfor $685,761 in funding provider by the through its Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program. The $685,761 is part of roughlyy $2.3 million that the countty has received in stimulus funding for both homeless recoveryg and affordablehousing projects. In ordetr to qualify, nonprofits must have an office in Hillsboroughb County near public transportation and have been in operationj for at leasttwo years. “Wwe need that stability to know they have the capacit y to move forward withthe programs,” said Marcia acting executive planner with the Affordabls Housing Department.
The nonprofits would be tasked with housing relocationn and stabilization services includingcase management, outreach, legal, mediation and credit repair help. The goal is to help peopled in transitional housing find permanent Mask said.
