Schwarzenegger is proposinbg once again to eliminate and consolidate more than a dozehstate departments, boards and commissions. This includesa the Waste Management Board, the Court Reporters Board, the Department of Boating and Waterwaysx and the Inspection and MaintenanceReview Committee. Earlied this year, the state began consolidatingg informationtechnology departments. Now Schwarzeneggerr wants to consolidate departments that overser financial institutions and merge tax collection operations. In July, state leaders will receive recommendationws on how to modernize thetax code.
